Adult Rehabilitation Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

The BeechWood Adult Rehabilitation Mental Health Services program (ARMHS) serves adults living in Hennepin County who are experiencing serious mental illness that affects their daily functioning. Basic living skills, medication education, and crisis intervention are just a few of the needs that our ARMHS program is equipped to support and capable of making a difference.

BeechWood ARMHS practitioners have the privileged experience of working with, encouraging, and supporting people who struggle with tough problems, such as: hoarding, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, and depression.

Below are the three easy steps we take with each person to ensure we make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Step 1 - Diagnostic Assessment

An initial diagnostic assessment is made to determine eligibility, person's interest, and goal planning. Substantial effort is taken to assign the Mental Health Practitioner’s strengths to the person's need by taking into account the their personality, learning style, processing, communication strengths, etc.

Step 2 - Service Coordination

Within 30 days, the Mental Health Practitioner and the person work together to:
  • Complete the Functional Assessment
  • Complete any Required Authorizations
  • Establish and develop a collaborative professional relationship so as to maximize consumer participation and growth
  • Develop and complete an Individual Treatment Plan

Step 3 - Ongoing Services

The primary goal of skill development is to maximize one’s abilities and independence. Our services include, but are not limited to:
  • Interpersonal communications
  • Community resource utilization and integration
  • Relapse prevention
  • Budgeting, shopping and healthy lifestyle skills and practices
  • Cooking, nutrition, exercise, and concentrated fitness training
  • Transportation
  • Mental illness symptom management
  • Household management
  • Employment-related skills
  • Transitioning to community living
