Independent Living Skills

BeechWood, Inc. provides home and community-based ILS services to people to help them achieve their goals and objectives. We are committed to holistic and healthy choices and strongly advocate for persons we serve with health professionals, support groups, and government programs.

Who We Serve

  • People who are on home and community-based service (HCBS) waivers (BI, CADI, EW, AC)
  • Individuals with mental Illness
  • Individuals with brain Injuries
  • Individuals with physical Illness
  • Senior citizens

Areas of Support

Individuals must meet the following criteria:
  • Medically stable
  • Currently on Medical Assistance
  • Willing to assist in developing a plan of care
  • Willing to work on individualized programs
  • Safe in the community with supportive services
  • Non-violent to self and others
  • Remain drug and alcohol free while working with staff
  • Follow recommendations of physicians and other professionals
  • Willing to release previous medical or other records when necessary
It is our policy to accept and serve people eligible for ILS Services without regard to race, sexual orientation, gender, national origin, ability, age, religion, or status of public assistance. Services, when available, are provided without distinction.

Individualized Services

ILS Specialists provide the following services:
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, meetings, hearings,            re-assessments, AA, and more
  • Assist with documentation, including: ​Federal, State and County benefits, HUD Section 8, medical insurance, Social Security, and more
  • Refer to additional community resources as needed

Group Support

BeechWood sponsors recreational group activities such as:
  • Lunch/Book/Craft Club
  • ​Field Trips
  • Bingo Buffet
  • Special Events
