ARMHS Mental Health Practitioner

Primary Duties:
  • Provide individual rehabilitative mental health services in the client's home or community to clients with a serious mental health diagnosis
  • Examples of services provided include development of coping skills for managing symptoms, maintaining sobriety, interpersonal communication skills, learning to increase social support, development of recreational interests, crisis management, independent living skills, improving physical health, advancing vocational or educational goals, and accessing community resources.
  • Engage with clients from an empowerment, strength-based perspective and promote client self-determination.
  • Develop trusting, therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Complete Diagnostic Assessment updates and all Functional Assessments under supervision of a Mental Health Professional
  • Develop Individual Treatment Plans, progress notes, and other required documentation.
  • Participate in weekly clinical case consultation/program meeting, and weekly individual supervision.
  • Learn, share, and utilize skills drawn from ACT, DBT, CBT, Illness Management & Recovery, and other evidence-based practices
  • Facilitate and help develop rehabilitative or skill-focused groups for clients.
  • Coordinate services with case managers, family/guardian of client, employment services personnel, medical personnel, etc.

Experience:
  • Master's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related field preferred; or, Bachelor's Degree in one of the behavioral sciences or related fields from an accredited college or university, and at least 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the treatment of adults with mental illness or children with emotional disturbances.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license / auto insurance / reliable vehicle.
  • Possess strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be culturally competent and have experience working with diverse populations.
